Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineer to drive MBSE workflows and architecture across DoD portfolios. You will lead Cameo-based modeling, requirements traceability, and automated artifact generation, partnering across disciplines. A TS clearance and onsite SCIF work are required, with travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline with 4+ years of experience.
• Proven proficiency with MBSE methodologies and direct architecture capture using SysML-compliant tools (Cameo or MagicDraw).
• Hands-on experience with system allocations and automated document generation via scripting (VTL, Python, MATLAB).
• Experience drafting and decomposing technical requirements; DOORS experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; willingness to travel 10–20%.
• U.S. Citizenship and active TS clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of high-speed system architectures in Cameo/ SysML, creating unified views.
• Oversee constrained-syntax requirements and traceability to verification artifacts.
• Develop and maintain parametric lifecycle models using Excel, Python, MATLAB.
• Facilitate multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups.
• Conduct trade studies and brief executives on lifecycle cost/benefit tradeoffs.
• Create VTL scripts to automate contract deliverables and ICDs.
• Provide technical leadership within a matrixed team.
