Leidos Defense Systems in San Diego seeks a Systems Engineer to drive MBSE work across high-priority DoD portfolios. You will bridge architecture, requirements, and verification using SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, and scripting tools.

Lead cross‑functional teams, manage trade studies, and produce automated artifacts (ICDs, reports) with VTL, Python, and MATLAB. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS clearance, onsite in a SCIF with 10–20% travel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline with 4+ years of experience.
• Proven proficiency with MBSE methodologies and direct architecture capture using SysML-compliant tools (Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw).
• Hands-on experience developing or managing complex structural allocations and generating automated documents/reports via scripting (VTL, Python, or MATLAB).
• Demonstrated experience drafting, analyzing, and decomposing technical requirement structures (DOORS or similar).
• Strong communication skills with ability to lead small technical teams and travel 10–20%.

Responsabilités

• Lead the structural and behavioral capture of high-speed system architectures in Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw.
• Oversee the creation, maturation, and tracking of constrained-syntax requirements with traceability to verification artifacts.
• Develop parametric lifecycle models in scripting environments (Excel, Python, MATLAB) to quantify design impacts.
• Formulate and manage multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups.
• Direct execution of trade studies, briefs, and white papers evaluating warfighter utility and lifecycle cost/benefit.
• Build VTL scripts inside Cameo to automate generation of ICDs and program milestones.
• Provide technical leadership within a matrixed team environment.
