Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineer to advance MBSE practices across DoD portfolios. You will bridge architecture modeling, requirements, and verification, using Cameo/MagicDraw and scripting to quantify design tradeoffs.

The role requires 4+ years in MBSE, US citizenship with TS clearance, and onsite work in a SCIF. You will lead cross-functional teams and produce automated artifacts and analyses to support critical programs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace/Systems/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Computer Engineering, Physics or related STEM with 4+ years experience.
• Proven MBSE experience and SysML tools (Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw).
• Experience with hierarchical system architectures and automated document generation (VTL/Python/MATLAB).
• Strong requirement management and traceability skills (EARS/DOORS).
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
• Onsite work in SCIF, 10–20% travel; U.S. Citizenship and active TS clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead capture of high-speed system architectures in Cameo Systems Modeler, creating SysML views.
• Oversee requirements development and traceability from design to verification.
• Develop parametric lifecycle models in scripting environments to analyze design choices.
• Coordinate cross-functional architecture working groups and interfaces.
• Conduct trade studies and prepare executive briefs on utility and lifecycle costs.
• Create automated contract deliverables and ICDs using VTL scripts.
