Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or out-of-state certificate for the position; ESL certification required during first year if not yet obtained.
• Content exam and Science of Teaching Reading exam requirements met, if applicable.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position per Federal and/or State law.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to district philosophy of instruction and develop lesson plans aligned to district curriculum; show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles and present material per TEA guidelines.
• Assess student learning through formal and informal methods and adjust instruction; collaborate with special education staff for IEPs.
• Coordinate with staff to set instructional goals and supervise aides; use technology to strengthen teaching/learning processes.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals and teachers; maintain professional relationships everywhere.
