Job summary

Benihana in Houston seeks a hibachi chef to engage guests, perform cooking shows, and deliver a memorable dining experience. You will oversee portioning, food prep, and safety while cooking at the hibachi grill. Training is provided and tips are included as part of compensation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests within 15 minutes of teppan order.
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables with engaging interaction.
• Provides guests information about Benihana foods during cooking.
• Responds promptly to guest requests.
• Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows instructions.
• Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking with various equipment.
• Performs shift opening/closing duties and keeps areas clean.
• Maintains kitchen, teppan areas, and reports maintenance issues.
