Benihana - San Mateo seeks a friendly, energetic cook to deliver a memorable hibachi dining experience. You will work in front of guests, performing a cooking show while ensuring correct portions and a clean station. The role emphasizes guest engagement and teamwork with the kitchen and service teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as chef or cook is desirable.
• Willingness to train and learn Benihana procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order.
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables with courteous interaction.
• Reads guest inquiries and provides information about Benihana foods.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables for cooking.
• Maintains clean, sanitary teppan cooking areas and kitchen equipment.
