Job summary

Benihana - San Diego is seeking a frontline hibachi chef to entertain guests while cooking meals teppan-style. You will engage with guests, ensure correct portions, and deliver a memorable dining experience in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.

The role emphasizes cooking skills, showmanship, and adherence to food safety and portion standards. Training is provided, and benefits apply to eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of teppan order.
• Perform cooking show for assigned tables and engage with guests.
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and teppan areas and report issues.
• Ensure food portions, presentation, and recipes meet company standards.
