Job summary

Benihana - Coral Gables is seeking a chef to engage guests, entertain with a hibachi cooking show, and prepare foods at the teppan grill. The role emphasizes delivering a memorable dining experience with accurate portions and clean preparation areas.

You will perform cooking shows, interact with guests, and ensure food is cooked to standard while maintaining high cleanliness and safety. Training is provided, and tips may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Must pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous cooking experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order.
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables with engaging interaction.
• Reads guest inquiries and answers about Benihana foods during cooking.
• Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Asks guests for cooking preference and follows instructions.
• Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables using kitchen equipment.
• Performs shift opening and closing duties and cleans storage areas.
• Maintains cleanliness and follows FIFO in food handling.
• Presents a clean, neat appearance and courteous service.
• Photographs with guests for special occasions when requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
