Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with Hematology/Oncology expertise to join our infusion center and ambulatory teams. The APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and coordinates the plan of care for Hem/Onc patients, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.

The role includes comprehensive health evaluations, education, discharge planning, and participation in resident and student education.

Qualifications

Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional ACLS training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

Manages comprehensive and individualized care for patients and families in the infusion center and ambulatory setting.
Completes daily rounds; pre‑treatment or pre‑procedure evaluations in the infusion center; participates in ambulatory clinics.
Develops a comprehensive, individualized plan of care for Hem/Onc patients, including discharge planning and referrals as needed.
Performs and interprets diagnostic tests following established guidelines and scope of practice.
Coordinates discharge and follow‑up and educates patients and families.
