Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks an Advance Practice Professional (APP) specialized in Hematology/Oncology to provide comprehensive patient evaluations, coordinate education and discharge planning, and participate in resident and student education. The APP will perform diagnostic procedures and collaborate with the clinical team to develop and review the plan of care in both infusion centers and ambulatory settings.

Qualified candidates hold a Master's in Nursing, APRN certification, and WV licensure

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN/APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification; ACLS when required by department.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for hematology/oncology patients.
• Performs rounds, pre-treatment evaluations, and coordinates discharge planning.
• Documents assessments and plan of care in the medical record.
• Provides education to patients, families, and staff; participates in rounds.
