Job summary

WVU Medicine in Madison, WV is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) specializing in Hematology/Oncology to provide patient-centered care in the infusion center and ambulatory settings. The APP conducts comprehensive evaluations, develops and reviews care plans, orders tests, and coordinates discharge planning with the clinical team.

The role includes teaching residents and students, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within state licensure and hospital privileges.

Qualifications

Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

Manages comprehensive and individualized care for hematology/oncology patients.
Performs and documents diagnostic procedures and tests per guidelines.
Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up within the infusion center and ambulatory settings.
Mentors nursing staff and participates in education of residents and medical/nursing students.
