Job summary

Dashiell's Houston office is seeking an entry-level IT Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for helpdesk tickets, handling basic hardware and software issues, workstation setup, and peripheral support under supervision. The IT Support Specialist I delivers reliable, courteous customer service while developing foundational IT skills within a corporate environment.

The position will be based in our Houston, Texas office located at 12031 Kurland Dr, Houston, TX 77034 and will report

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior professional IT experience required; internship or academic lab experience a plus.
• Basic understanding of Windows 10/11 and related computer technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with multi-ticket handling ability.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated team player with willingness to learn on the job.
• Driving is not required; occasional travel to other offices may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve basic helpdesk tickets promptly.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, printers, monitors, and peripherals.
• Assist with imaging and provisioning of new user workstations.
• Provide first-level support for Microsoft Office, email, VPN, and standard apps.
• Escalate complex tickets with documentation of troubleshooting steps.
• Support remote office locations via remote access tools.
• Maintain records in the helpdesk system, including resolutions and assets.
• Assist IT team with maintenance tasks and asset inventory.
• Explain resolutions clearly to end users in non-technical terms.
• Provide after-hours support as needed.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
