Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Shop Technician to ensure optimal performance of heavy machinery components through precise repairs in our workshop environment. The role emphasizes meeting repair timelines, safety, and quality standards while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

You will handle diagnostics, testing, and documentation, collaborating with team members to maintain high repair efficiency and minimal rework in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability to work varied shifts including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Complete repair tasks efficiently to meet or exceed flat rate times and minimize re-dos.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe workplace.
• Accurately complete work orders, parts orders, JSA, and data in DBS/SIMS/SIS Web/STW.
• Enforce HAZMAT guidelines and environmental regulations.
• Remove/install machine parts, disassemble/reassemble components, test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Provide precise quotes and pricing estimates based on repair needs and resources.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and knowledge; propose repairs.
• Test and verify repairs before job closure; ensure quality and function.
• Use failure analysis methods to determine root causes and repair solutions.
• Communicate progress and best practices with team and supervisors to improve shop performance.
