Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at our recycling/landfill facilities, transferring, loading and compacting waste or soil. You will perform inspections and minor maintenance, log reports, and uphold safety policies to keep operations efficient.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and a proven safety record, with focus on reliability and teamwork at a regulated site.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and document findings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at shift end.
• Follow all safety standards and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
