Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate a range of heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. The role focuses on transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil with an emphasis on safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, monitoring waste quality, and coordinating with the Maintenance Shop for repairs while adhering to all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years’ prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience working at sites regulated by OSHA is preferred.
• Demonstrates good customer service, professionalism and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, or front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment is operational.
• Perform minor servicing on equipment and document reports for maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report needed repairs.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized.
