Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil while following all safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader using proper safety standards.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment; refer major repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor as needed.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Keep shop clean, serviced and stored at shift end.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
