Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and related machinery at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations.

The role focuses on transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste with emphasis on safety and efficiency. The position requires prior heavy equipment experience and adherence to OSHA regulations, with a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Commitment to safety and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment daily before and after use and report any issues.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently per Company policy.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor maintenance and document it; escalate major repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
