Job summary

Republic Services, based in Louisiana, is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, handling transfer, spreading, covering, loading and compaction of waste or soil.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of experience working at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Strong safety and customer-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other machinery.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Document Equipment Condition Reports and coordinate repairs with Maintenance Shop.
• Keep the shop clean and complete end-of-shift tasks.
