Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. You will transfer, spread, load, and compact waste or soil while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and adherence to company safety standards, with opportunities for comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Able to follow safety policies and company rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and ensure cameras and lights are clean.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain equipment readiness.
• Perform minor service on equipment and report more complex issues to maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
• Keep the shop clean, serviced, and organized at shift end.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
