Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, performing tasks such as transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil. The role requires attention to safety, quality and efficiency, with pre- and post-operation inspections and routine maintenance.

You will work with various equipment, maintain documentation and reports, and support the team in meeting daily goals while adhering to company policies

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Strong time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader.
• Monitor waste material and equipment condition for safety and efficiency.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Keep shop clean and organized and follow safety standards; perform other duties as assigned.
