Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate multiple heavy machines and perform earth-moving tasks as part of waste management operations. The role requires hands-on equipment experience, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities include inspections, routine maintenance, and coordinating with team members to ensure efficient site operations while delivering quality service to customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck or similar experience preferred.
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment.
• Specific to Boyd - Must successfully complete hazardous waste management training within six months of employment or assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and document results.
• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, fueling, cleaning) and monitor equipment for downtime.
• Support site prep, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Perform on-site roll-off work and move/stack trailers as needed.
