Job summary

Granite Construction Company seeks a senior-level estimator to develop accurate proposals for private and public works. You will review drawings, site conditions, and specifications, and coordinate with field operations to ensure bids reflect feasible means and methods.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, competitive strategies, and market development. The ideal candidate has extensive estimating experience, proficiency with AGTEK/Primavera and MS Office, and a strong civil engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.
• 7+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• 4+ years estimating experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera Scheduling software.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating software and civil/construction principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of DBE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and site conditions; incorporate field input into estimates.
• Analyze bid risks, strategies, and competition; present to senior management.
• Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
• Develop and maintain relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.
• Analyze and compile estimate data to compute labor, materials, and equipment costs.
