Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a Part Time UCHC Technician I for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center STU in Avenel, NJ. The role participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the prison, performing vital signs, assisting with procedures, specimen collection, and maintaining supplies in the Health Service Unit.

The position requires CMA/EMT/CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification.
• At least two (2) years of healthcare experience with multiple areas of knowledge and abilities.
• CPR Certification
• Valid Driver’s License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternate means of transportation between sites.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in EMR.
• Assists the physician/APP with procedures, including preparing the inmate for examination.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit and coordinates with pharmacy.
