Job summary

Rutgers University’s University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) seeks a Technician I for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center in Avenel, NJ. You will participate as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team delivering inmate health services.

You will take vitals, assist with procedures, collect specimens, draw blood, and help with cleaning, sterilization and supply management while documenting in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA/EMT/CNA certification.
• At least two (2) years of progressively more responsible related healthcare experience.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Assists the physician/ APR with procedures, including preparing the inmate for the examination.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood.
• Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock and aggregates medication orders for pharmacy.
