Rutgers University Correctional Health Care seeks a Part Time UCHC Technician I for East Jersey State Prison in Rahway, NJ. The role supports clinical and administrative medical teams, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and handling specimen collection.

The position requires CMA/EMT/CNA certification, CPR, and at least two years of healthcare experience, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Evening shifts with on-site work arrangement are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA/EMT/CNA certification.
• At least two years of healthcare experience across multiple areas.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with own vehicle or reliable transportation to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, height and weight and document in EMR.
• Assist physician with procedures, including preparing inmate for examination.
• Obtain specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
• Maintain or assist in maintaining supply stock by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner; forward medication orders to pharmacy.
