Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time UCHC Technician I for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center located in Avenel, NJ. The UCHC Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison.

Among the duties for this position are taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood, and assisting with supply stock management and medication order aggregation.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification.
• At least two years of healthcare experience in multiple areas.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License required, own transportation to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight; documents in EMR.
• Assists physician/APP with procedures and prepares inmates for exams.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment.
• Maintains/assists in maintaining supply stock and forwards medication orders to pharmacy.
