Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time UCHC Technician I for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center in Avenel, NJ. The UCHC Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison.

The role supports clinical tasks and administrative duties, including vital signs, specimen collection, and medication coordination. Evening shift; full-time onsite position with union support.

Qualifications

• Two years in healthcare with cross-functional exposure.
• CMA, EMT, or CNA certification is required or preferred.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document in EMR.
• Assist physician with procedures and prepare inmate for examination.
• Perform specimen collection including drawing blood.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment in Health Service Unit.
• Manage supply stock and order replenishments.
• Coordinate medication orders with pharmacy.
