Job summary

CenterWell is seeking a Referral and Scheduling Coordinator to pre-register patients for exams and procedures, coordinating with specialists outside the primary care office. You will handle calls, gather and relay preparation instructions, and ensure timely scheduling under supervision.

This role requires 2 years of referrals healthcare experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 2 years of hands-on referrals healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times.
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company’s TB screening program.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.
• Medical Assistant or Professional State Certifications related to healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and pre-register patients for exams and procedures with external specialists and providers.
• Gathers and communicates all relevant information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls approximately 80% of the time.
• Support administrative/clerical/operational tasks in a patient-facing role.
