Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Virginia Beach is seeking a Practice Manager I to lead the 24-hour accountability of workflow, performance, and operations for the designated practice. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 3-5 years of healthcare/ management experience preferred.
• Management level experience in a hospital or medical group setting with skills in medical insurance, coding and reimbursement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to plan, manage, establish and maintain a professional work environment.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to direct subordinates and delegate tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational functioning.
• Must be highly organized with proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage resources and time effectively.
• Technical and professional knowledge and skills unique to the business and / or clinical operations of a medical practice which may include but are not limited to Financial, Human Resources, Information Systems, Billing, Coding, Auditing, Credentialing, Payor, Reimbursement, Risk, Governance, Regulations, Planning and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees operations and business activities across the designated practice, including scheduling, billing, registration, coding, auditing and reimbursement.
• Provides leadership, education, guidance and professional development to personnel to support daily operations.
• Manages workflow and overall practice operations to maximize physician and staff productivity.
• Develops systems and processes for successful integration and implementation of operational changes.
• Delegates and supervises staff, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews and competency assessment.
• Identifies problem areas and monitors performance to foster continuous quality improvement.
• Maintains facilities and equipment to ensure effective operations and timely services.
• Addresses patient, physician, personnel, vendor and organizational concerns promptly and professionally.
