Job summary

University of Houston System is seeking an IT professional to analyze and evaluate existing and proposed systems, plan and develop computer solutions, and provide system management support for clinical applications in a security-sensitive environment.

The role includes first-level technical support for Athena EHR, workstation hardware, and user accounts, incident response, HIPAA-compliant access management, and ongoing system audits to support regulatory and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed systems; plans and develops computer solutions; and provides system management support.
• Provides first-level technical support for clinical applications, workstation hardware, and user accounts.
• Responds to incidents and service requests using ITSM ticketing system per SLAs.
• Assists with user account administration, access management, and onboarding/offboarding while maintaining HIPAA standards.
• Performs routine monitoring, testing, validation, and maintenance of clinical applications for reliability and data integrity.
• Develops and maintains user documentation and training materials; supports system implementations and workflow improvements.
