Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a healthcare IT systems professional to analyze, design, implement, operate, and support clinical and operational systems across the organization. You will collaborate with business experts to solve challenges, maintain system health, and participate in 24/7 on-call support to ensure patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a healthcare IT/clinical systems field, or an Associate’s with 5+ years in healthcare apps support.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams on projects.
• Experience with clinical and/or financial healthcare systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently identify and analyze business needs, gather requirements, and define scope for healthcare systems.
• Provide data through visualization and documentation to analyze requests and monitor systems.
• Review peers' work and follow change control to develop, test, and implement changes with documentation.
• Evaluate system performance and mitigate risks to operations.
• Maintain knowledge of system enhancements, corrections, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex healthcare application issues across environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide user support 24/7.
• Track system performance, incidents, and project activities for leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a healthcare/IT related field and/or Associate’s with 5+ years healthcare application support experience
