Job description

Department: ClinicEnterprise Salary: 54,600 - 68,300 (Commensuratewith Experience/Education)

Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed systems; plans anddevelops computer solutions; and provides system managementsupport. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48,this position researches, works on, or has access to criticalinfrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security orintegrity of the University infrastructure. This position requirespersonnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or notcriminal history or continuous connections for the government orpolitical apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent theemployee from being able to maintain the security or integrity ofthe infrastructure.

1. Analyzes computer software/hardware problems and needs;implements solutions.
2. Anticipates network system security breaches and securessystem.
3. Designs hardware and software systems suitable for user's needsand implements solutions.
4. Analyzes and debugs operating system components.
5. Anticipates future needs in computing resources and makesappropriate recommendations.
6. Collaborates with college and department computing personnel toassist in their operations.
7. Evaluates software and hardware needs to accommodateusers.
8. Develops, designs and writes documentation on installed systemand application software.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: "Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical andpractical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline. Additional duties:

• Provides first-level technical support for Athena EHR, clinical applications, workstation hardware, software, printers, scanners,peripheral devices, and user accounts by troubleshooting andresolving routine issues or escalating as appropriate.
• Responds to, documents, tracks, and resolves incidents andservice requests using the organization's IT service management(ITSM) ticketing system in accordance with established servicelevels.
• Assists with user account administration, applicationconfiguration, access management, and onboarding/offboardingactivities while maintaining HIPAA and security standards.
• Performs routine monitoring, testing, validation, and maintenanceof clinical applications to ensure system reliability, dataintegrity, and optimal performance.
• Assists with report generation, data validation, workflowdocumentation, and system audits to support operational,regulatory, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Installs, configures, and supports standard workstation hardware,software, operating systems, and clinical peripherals whilecoordinating equipment deployment and replacement.
• Develops and maintains user documentation, knowledge basearticles, and training materials, and provides end-user educationon clinical systems and technology.
• Collaborates with clinical, operational, and technical teams tosupport system implementations, workflow improvements, applicationenhancements, and other strategic technology initiatives.
