Job summary

Northstarir is hiring a Help Desk & Desktop Support Technician as a 1099 Independent Contractor. The role is on-site with hybrid work options in Minneapolis, MN, offering a day shift from Monday to Friday.

You will provide Tier 1 technology support to physicians, nurses, and staff, ensuring reliable systems for patient care. You’ll deploy and maintain workstations, assist with onboarding/offboarding, and escalate advanced issues to the Healthcare IT Systems Administrator.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Help Desk/DeskTop Support experience or equivalent training.
• Experience supporting Windows and/or macOS computers.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, printers, internet).
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to prioritize requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day technology support requests.
• Respond to tickets, calls, and emails promptly and professionally.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other equipment.
• Assist with password resets and account access.
• Set up and maintain computers and equipment; assist onboarding and offboarding.
• Maintain inventory and document resolutions.
