Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, verify eligibility, and move intake forward smoothly. A detail-oriented approach and strong communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration is preferred.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service is a plus.
• Healthcare setting experience (pharmacy, HME, medical supply, Medicare environment) is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide alternatives.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
