Job summary

West Roxbury Health & Rehabilitation Center, part of Elderwood, is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead the facility's maintenance program, oversee life-safety compliance, and supervise staff in a 76-bed skilled nursing community in West Roxbury, MA.

You will partner with Administration and clinical departments to plan preventive maintenance, manage vendor relationships, and ensure a safe, well‑maintained living environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC maintenance.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring, training and scheduling staff.
• Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA; OSHA knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with using computer programs to place orders and manage inventory.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise the overall maintenance program for the facility.
• Oversee heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems; coordinate repairs and replacements.
• Perform or coordinate carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance work.
• Supervise maintenance staff and outside contractors; ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain records, budgets, and coordinate with Administration on priorities.
