Job summary

Southampton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Virginia is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead all facility maintenance operations in a 196-bed sub-acute and long‑term care setting. You will oversee preventative maintenance, coordinate staff and vendors, ensure safety codes, read blueprints, and manage critical systems like HVAC, boilers, generators.

The role is full‑time with a salary range of $58,000 to $90,000 per year and a benefits package including health, vision, dental, 401(k)

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a maintenance role.
• Nursing home or healthcare facility experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
• Must be licensed or certified in accordance with applicable state and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and facility systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and facility standards.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality completion of work.
• Maintain and monitor critical facility systems, including boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are consistently met.
• Interpret and utilize blueprints, technical manuals, and system documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies to ensure resident safety and continuity of care.
