Job summary

Senior Health Care Facility in Rhode Island seeks a skilled Director of Maintenance to lead the Maintenance Department, ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

You will plan, organize, and direct maintenance operations, coordinate with other departments, implement preventive maintenance, and manage budgets and safety compliance. This leadership role requires strong communication with staff and adherence to codes, with responsive support to facility needs.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required; 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints; knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions and interact tactfully with residents, staff, and external entities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program and complete administrative duties.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Forecast departmental needs and manage budgets accordingly.
• Ensure safety policies and equipment are followed for potentially dangerous tasks.
• Place orders for equipment and supplies and label infectious material appropriately.
