Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead daily job-site operations, orchestrating scheduling, production, and procurement of materials and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and oversee contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

The role demands interfacing with the Project Manager, craft personnel, subs, and clients to maintain progress, safety, and quality on healthcare and commercial projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction field or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction and staffing.
• Develop and use look ahead schedules with Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings prior to mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Inform all parties of construction progress and issues; meet with subs and clients regularly.
• Resolve complaints with supervisory and labor representatives.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize staffing and costs.
• Support Project Management Plan preparation and ensure policy adherence.
