Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. The role requires travel to project locations nationwide and supervision of direct labor and subcontractors to ensure on-time completion.

The ideal candidate will have a background in ground-up commercial projects, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple phases and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience on ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Knowledge of construction processes and codes; reads blueprints accurately.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each phase of construction.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and develop look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Communicate progress and issues with clients, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
• Resolve conflicts and supervise subcontractors to ensure on-time project delivery.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan and ensure safety and quality standards.
