Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee healthcare project sites in California. You will manage daily operations, scheduling, procurement, and field leadership to ensure on-time completion.

Experience leading healthcare teams, strong knowledge of building codes and OSHPD standards, and a willingness to travel are required. The role includes a competitive salary and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and at least 5 years in commercial construction.
• Healthcare construction experience is required, with OSHPD/HCAI background preferred.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and read blueprints accurately.
• Strong communication, organization and administrative skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and manage multiple crews.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily job site operations, scheduling, production and procurement of materials.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on look-ahead schedules and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work calendars.
• Ensure safety, quality, and adherence to project plans and codes.
• Lead subcontractors, craft workers, and client communications on progress.
• Monitor labor costs and adjust crew mixes to optimize performance.
• Collaborate on Project Management Plan and site reporting.
