Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support across patient care units. You will monitor supplies, answer patient call lights, assist nursing staff, and coordinate with the care team using the EHR.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and healthcare experience; EPIC experience preferred. Part-time schedule with rotating day/night shifts and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adapts effectively to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintains certifications/licensure per work unit requirements.

Responsabilités

• The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.
• Monitors and orders supplies, promptly answering patient call lights and elevating patient needs to nursing staff.
• Assists the care team with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff; supports the care team and participates in continuous improvement.
