Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support across patient care units. You will monitor supplies, assist with EHR orders, and communicate with patients, visitors, and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and excellent customer service. Flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills (Windows-based applications, LAN/intranet use) required.
• HUC post-secondary program or certification preferred.
• One year medical environment experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Computer skills proficiency preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adaptability to unpredictable situations in patient care.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Certifications/licensure per work unit requirements maintained.

Responsabilités

• The Health Unit Coordinator provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team.
• Duties may include monitoring and ordering supplies, answering patient call lights, elevating patient needs to nursing staff, and assisting with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff and supports the care team with Mayo Clinic resources.
• Functions as a resource to care team members and is familiar with Mayo Clinic resources.
• Performs with good judgment, problem-solving, and self-development within the role and participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Supports the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to team requests and patient needs.
