Job summary

HealthNet is seeking a Medical Record Specialist to collect, process, retrieve, analyze, and disseminate health care information for patient care, research, and decision making. The HIM Analyst will maintain confidentiality and adhere to standards set by government agencies and accrediting bodies.

The role includes developing workflows for medical records management, ensuring retention and secure destruction per policy, and releasing information in compliance with applicable guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RHIT certification or HIM coursework preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a healthcare office or medical records setting preferred.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, retrieve, analyze, and disseminate health care information/medical records for patient care, research, and decision making.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to government agency regulations and policies.
• Assist in developing workflows, policies and procedures for medical records management.
• Release medical records in compliance with guidelines.
• Coordinate with health centers, patients and vendors for release of information requests.
