Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Senior HIM Specialist to manage advanced Health Information Management tasks across the patient record lifecycle. The role requires independent handling of imaging, chart analysis, and data integrity in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory requirements is essential, with emphasis on accurate record completion and adherence to privacy standards. Strong accuracy under pressure will be key to success.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of HIM experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience with EMR systems and HIM applications.
• Progress toward RHIT/RHIA or healthcare degree is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced HIM functions including document imaging (prep, scan, index, quality review).
• Analyze medical records for completeness; manage deficiencies per regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and resolve data integrity issues and maintain Master Patient Index accuracy.
• Process and reconcile rejected orders and support provider completion workflows.
• Support ROI requests in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
