University Health is seeking an organized Health Information Management professional to organize and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records for patients recently dismissed from units.

The role supports accountability of dismissal records, creates deficiencies, and assists in other HIM tasks, including EMR processing, births registration, scanning, QA, audits, and ensuring HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
• Two+ years healthcare experience in HIM or EMR preferred; clerical experience accepted in lieu.

Responsabilités

• Organizes inpatient and outpatient medical records for patients recently dismissed from units.
• Assists in accountability and organization of dismissal records.
• Creates deficiencies on inpatient and outpatient records.
• Assists in other HIM tasks: completing incomplete records, registration of births, scanning, QA screening, auditing of medical records.
• Promotes guest relations policy and adheres to HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines.
