Job summary

Wyoming Child and Family Development is seeking a Substitute Paraeducator Head Start worker to support three to five-year-olds in a safe, caring classroom. You will assist the Lead Teacher, prepare materials, and deliver individualized activities to promote social competence and school readiness.

The role requires patience, strong communication, and flexibility to adapt to daily routines, with duties including minor first aid, diaper changes, and participation in child screenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to support diverse learners, including those with special needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, families, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with preparing materials and setting up the classroom.
• Provide individualized care to meet needs of each child and family in Head Start program.
• Deliver direct services to children and families in various settings.
• Implement lesson plans in individual, small group, and large group activities.
• Support IFSP/IEP goals in collaboration with teachers and family support providers.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized classroom environments.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide basic first aid and routine hygienic care as needed.
• Assist with outdoor activities and child screenings when required.
