Job summary

Wyoming Child and FamilyDevelopment, Inc. seeks a Substitute Paraprofessional for its Early Head Start program to support a safe, nurturing classroom for birth to three-year-olds.

You will assist the Lead Teacher with materials, prepare activities, and provide individualized care to meet each child’s needs while fostering family engagement. Under Head Start/Early Head Start standards, you will collaborate with teachers and therapists, document observations, and help implement IFSP/IEP goals,

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED and be 18+, per state requirements.
• Must obtain a Child Development Associate Credential within a specified time frame. Training and support provided by WCFD.
• WCFD will only accept degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Recruit children for the program in accordance with guidelines from the Department of Health and Human Services and WCFD.
• Provide infant/toddler care based on knowledge of child development.
• Deliver direct services to children, families, and staff in various settings.
• Communicate with staff, children, and families through verbal and nonverbal methods.
• Assist in organizing and implementing group socialization activities for children and families.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide individualized educational activities to help children explore and develop problem-solving skills.
