Job summary

Wyoming Child & Family Development is hiring a Paraeducator Head Start to support a safe, learning-focused classroom for 3–5 year olds. You will assist the Lead Teacher, prepare materials, and provide individualized care to promote social competence and school readiness within Head Start standards.

You will help implement lesson plans, support IFSP/IEP goals, and work with families and therapists to meet each child’s needs. The role requires flexibility and adherence to WCFD policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 18+ years old.
  • Must obtain a Child Development Associate Credential within the specified time frame.
  • Training and support provided by WCFD for CDA.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit children for the Head Start program in line with guidelines.
  • Implement set lesson plans in various classroom settings.
  • Deliver direct services to children and families in all weather conditions.
  • Communicate positively with staff, children, and families.
  • Support children with behavioral concerns and developmental needs.
  • Organize group socialization activities for children and families.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Provide individualized educational activities to build problem-solving and confidence.
  • Support IFSP/IEP goals with teachers, family providers, and therapists.
  • Keep classrooms clean, organized, and safe.
  • Perform minor first aid and routine hygienic care.
  • Provide regular care including diaper changes and feeding as needed.
  • Assist with outdoor and playground activities.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of Wyoming Child and Family Development.
