Job summary

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey is seeking a Site Supervisor for a Head Start center in Trenton, NJ. You will oversee day-to-day operations, guide curriculum planning, supervise staff, and ensure quality services for children and families.

Responsibilities include staff development, data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with families. A strong background in early childhood education and Head Start standards is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably within Early Childhood Education; First Aid and CPR certified.
• Infant/Toddler CLASS certified or willing to become certified within 6 months.
• Minimum three years' experience supervising and a minimum of five years working in Head Start.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of a safe, clean, healthy, and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal and state regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Supervise center staff; ensure performance evaluations and professional development are completed.
• Maintain record keeping and reporting systems with timely completion and follow-up.
• Lead parent or group meetings and community collaborations to advocate for Head Start children and families.
• Oversee curriculum development and assessment of School Readiness goals.
• Oversee supervision of teachers in classrooms to ensure safe, healthy learning environments.
• Provide ongoing professional development through education, role modeling, and training resources.
• Ensure teachers conduct home visits per Head Start standards.
• Use TS Gold to check lesson plans and provide feedback.
