Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency in Penns Grove, NJ, seeks a full-time Early Childhood Education Supervisor to oversee a Head Start classroom, ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, DOE requirements, and licensing.

The candidate will hold a bachelor’s or higher in ECE, meet NJ/PA licensing requirements, have P-3 certification, and possess a daily car. Responsibilities include family engagement, record keeping, safety, and collaboration with center leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have a baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education or equivalent.
• Must meet NJ/PA licensing regulations qualification requirements.
• Must have New Jersey’s P‑3 certification: CE, CEA, or Standard Cert.
• Must have a car available on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities for preschool children aligned with Head Start and licensing standards.
• Observe, assess, and document each child’s growth; maintain records for each child.
• Ensure services for children with special needs are provided.
• Maintain child safety procedures, report incidents, and health concerns.
• Prepare records and monthly reports as requested by committees.
• Involve parents in classroom activities and educational planning sessions.
• Visit homes twice yearly and conduct two parent/teacher conferences.
• Attend trainings and assist in on-site staff development and admin duties.
• Carry out other Head Start tasks as delegated by management.
